Every Monday, I will post a prompt. You have until the following Monday to write and reply with a 100-200 word fic, i.e. a 'drabble', inspired by the prompt. (For an extra challenge, try to hit exactly 100 words!)
You can reply with the full text of the drabble, or link out to another site like Ao3, Tumblr, etc.
Any rating is permitted; please warn for NSFW and content where appropriate.
WHAT ELSE?
Don't worry if you missed last week: you can go back and write a late response anytime.
You may post more than one response to a single week's prompt.
If you're inspired to continue your drabbles, you're welcome to connect multiple challenge responses to each other, or expand on your fics outside of the challenge.
Characters: Yuki, and a surprise... Rating: G Notes: the beginning of a sub 1000 word thing I want to write, more soon Word count: 122
Yuki gazes across Hinashiro station, phone safely in her bag. She taps her fingers against her concrete perch, Sunday rain settling into a humid, wet evening; the walk home should have been pleasant were it not for gnats at the edge of her awareness, buzzing in tune with cicada and cricket alike in the downpour.
"You're not gonna wait it out, are you?"
She looks around, but no one is there. Yuki's head pangs, just a touch, before she hears the voice sound again.
"I said," The voice repeated, now resonating from the throat of a man with feline eyes, his dark mop of hair a void against the white of the call box. "you're not gonna wait it out, are you?"
Characters: Kimmy Howell, Sylvia Christel Rating: G Notes: pre NMH3! Word count:100
The collar around Kimmy's neck is heavy as lead this night, and Sylvia looks her over with a quirked brow.
"It's droll to see you on the stage." Sylvia quips as Kimmy finishes her makeup, slipping her phone in her clutch.
"You're my agent," Kimmy snarks back at her, "not my critic, Miss Christel."
"The young ingenue makes her return to the UAA... I just think it's exciting, that's all." Sylvia's fingers curl around a microphone, handing it off to Kimmy with a practiced carelessness. "Go get 'em out there~!"
Kimmy finds a shelter in performance, and Sylvia observes intently.
